Objectives - You should be able to determine who is competent to contract and who is not and why. You should also have a basic understanding of all of the elements of a contract. The law of contracts is very important in a business setting. You need to know why most contracts must be in writing to be enforceable. Also know what contracts must always be in writing to be enforceable, and know what the Statute of Frauds is. Know how to perform a contract, how to discharge a contract and what happens when you breach a contract. Also, know all of the remedies for breach of a contract. The most important cases for Chapter 10 are: Deschamps v. Treasure State Trailer Court; Derosier v. Utility Systems of America, Inc.

It relates to General objectives 2, 3, 4 and 7. Read the case synopsis and 1) summarize the issues in this case, and; 2) explain how the court held in the case and why the court held as it did. The case questions involve actual cases, so google those cases and the citations given in the text and read about the actual case. It will help in answering the question.
